Colorado Department of Early Childhood Data Quality Improvement Project
Project Objective
Listen to the front lines by gathering feedback from grantees, partners, and CDEC staff on what’s working and what’s not.Spot system breakdowns in Salesforce functionality, training, and support structures.Recommend upgrades to improve the user experience and strengthen statewide data quality.Map the future through a 5-year evaluation plan that supports long-term success for grantees and families.

Project Description
CDEC needed a clearer picture of what was helping—and what was hindering—its efforts to track and support family services across Colorado. That’s where Omni came in. Our charge: dig deep into how grantees are using the CDEC Salesforce database, identify where the process breaks down, and offer real solutions to make the system work better.Omni connected directly with the people using the tools every day—interviewing five Family Support Services (FSS) grantees, representatives from the Family Resource Center Association (FRCA), and internal CDEC staff. Their insights told a candid story: what’s helping them do their work, where the friction lives, and what they need to succeed. With that input, we delivered targeted, actionable recommendations for improving the system—from technical Salesforce fixes to revamped training and support strategies. But we didn’t stop there. Omni also developed a forward-looking 5-year evaluation plan to guide ongoing improvements and ensure data systems truly support the broader mission: helping families thrive statewide.
