Omni partnered with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to develop a statewide prevention toolkit grounded in equity, diversity, and Positive Youth Development. Designed to reduce injuries and fatalities related to impaired driving, the toolkit equips communities, organizations, and prevention stakeholders with actionable strategies, evidence-based practices, and adaptable resources to support youth-focused interventions.

This work was led by the department’s Community Prevention and Early Intervention team, whose mission is to promote the health and safety of all Coloradans by expanding access to high-quality, primary substance use prevention programs. Central to the toolkit’s development was the Colorado Impaired Driving Prevention Toolkit Steering Committee—a dedicated group of youth and adult partners representing communities across the state.

Meeting monthly, the committee offered invaluable insight into local needs and priorities, helping to shape a practical, accessible resource tailored to the realities of community work. Their vision and leadership ensured that the final product reflects the voices of those most affected and supports real-world impact where it matters most.

This toolkit reflects the insight and dedication of partners across Colorado committed to a safer future for all.
