Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative Annual Report

In 2023, the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative (VNPC) partnered with Omni to develop an annual report that would both highlight the organization’s progress and share the story of its mission-driven work. VNPC is dedicated to ensuring that every pregnant person in Virginia receives high-quality perinatal care and that every infant in the commonwealth gets the healthiest start to life. With this vision in mind, the report needed to go beyond standard data reporting. It had to capture the heart of the work and demonstrate impact in a clear, compelling way.

Omni approached this effort by weaving together multiple sources of information to build a comprehensive narrative. We analyzed secondary data on maternal and infant health outcomes to illustrate the broader challenges VNPC is tackling, such as disparities in morbidity and mortality. We then summarized program implementation data provided by VNPC and incorporated insights about key contextual factors, including recent legislative developments that affected care delivery in Virginia. This approach ensured the report reflected both the outcomes achieved and the evolving landscape in which VNPC operates.

The final product included a public-facing executive summary designed to be visually engaging and accessible to a broad audience, showcasing the tangible impact of VNPC’s work. The full report provided a deeper level of detail to meet the formal requirements of the organization's state funding. Together, these deliverables served to affirm VNPC’s leadership in improving perinatal health in Virginia and equipped stakeholders with a clear understanding of the collaborative’s progress and priorities for the year ahead.

After completing VNPC’s 2023 annual report, Omni produced the 2024 annual report, and is currently engaged in the development of the 2025 version.
